The French National Gambling Authority (Autorité Nationale des Jeux – ANJ) has officially announced the appointment of Pauline Hot as its new Director General.
This significant leadership transition marks a new chapter for the regulator, as it continues to strengthen its oversight and enforcement capabilities across France’s evolving gambling landscape.
Pauline Hot brings with her a wealth of academic and institutional experience. A distinguished graduate of two of France’s most prestigious institutions—the École normale supérieure and the École nationale d’administration (Hannah Arendt class)—she has been recognized for her deep understanding of public administration and regulatory frameworks.
Her involvement with the ANJ began in January 2025, when she was appointed Deputy Director General. In this capacity, she has played a key role in shaping regulatory strategies, contributing to the authority’s mission of ensuring gambling integrity, preventing excessive gambling, and protecting vulnerable groups.
As Director General, Pauline Hot will now lead the ANJ in implementing France’s strict regulatory standards and reinforcing transparency and responsibility within the gambling sector. Her appointment is expected to bring continuity, legal rigor, and a fresh strategic vision to the authority’s operations.
