BetMGM notifies customers of a new data breach

Some of the private information of BetMGM’s customers have been compromised in a recent breach.

The affected information involves addresses, names, social security numbers and more, although not all users had all of the mentioned data points accessed.

BetMGM was made aware of the breach on the 28th of November, though it is estimated to have happened a number of months ago in May. Shortly after getting the news of the breach, the operator started an investigation on the matter to determine how it happened and how far it reached.

However, the firm believes that account login details or funds were not tampered with as a part of the breach. Furthermore, BetMGM’s servers or any other critical parts of their online operation were compromised.

The operator recommends that all of their customers should be alert for their personal information being used in an unauthorized way. Additionally, BetMGM advises players to check their credit reports for any suspicious activity as well.

We are actively looking into this matter and we are working with qualified professionals to prevent issues like these from happening in the future.

stated the chief executive officer of BetMGM, Adam Greenblatt.
