According to CNN Brasil and G1, Brazilian lawyer Willer Tomaz reportedly generated approximately €886 million in betting turnover on Blaze during 2025, the highest individual total identified in a Finance Ministry analysis.
Along with this, Brazil’s Federal Court is investigating suspected money laundering involving Tomaz, his companies and presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro. The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting reported ranked gambling activity during 2025 with 25-page technical note. Tomaz’s turnover was nearly twice that of the second-ranked individual. Turnover represents the cumulative value of wagers placed, including money won and bet again, rather than new deposits.
Blaze reportedly recorded more than €45.7 million in deposits and approximately €35.4 million in withdrawals from Tomaz’s account during the year. The technical note has not been published in a public government repository, meaning the figures remain based on media reports.
Blaze’s risk monitoring rnder scrutiny
According to reports, Blaze has classified Tomaz’s account as medium risk despite the volume of transactions. The secretariat has stated that the expenses are of such nature which the risk classification should be critical.
Last October Tomaz made 14 deposits that totalled about €1.24 million, and on the next day at least 12 withdrawals were made within 18 minutes that totalled around €1.06 million.
The analysis raises a question of whether Blaze’s anti-money-laundering measures have identified any suspicious transactions. However, these results do not imply that Tomaz was guilty of money laundering or that Blaze was intentionally involved in illegal actions. Tomaz claims that his transactions are obvious and traceable from his bank account.
Supreme Court investigates alleged links to Bolsonaro
On October 18, Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court launched an investigation into alleged money laundering by Tomaz, his companies and Flávio Bolsonaro. The inquiry was prompted by the case’s transfer from federal courts in Rio Grande do Sul due to Bolsonaro’s exceptional jurisdiction. As per the news, police obtained emails referring to Bolsonaro being a master user of the bank account of Tomaz’s US company Alcazar Holdings. It was said that the access is meaningful for the investigation in terms of possible financial links between the two individuals.
Tomaz and Bolsonaro refer to their relationship as a friendship, denying any kind of business cooperation. Tomaz rejects allegations of involvement in any crime. The defense of Bolsonaro denies any inscriptions concerning their personal relationships. The investigations are still underway.
