Cirsa acquires Casino Figueira to expand in Portugal

Cirsa has taken a big first step in the gambling market of Portugal, being able to gain a 51% in Sociedade Figueira Praia, which operates Casino Figueira. The financial details of this strategic acquisition have not been made public.

The latest deal further boosts Cirsa’s presence in Portugal after the company acquired online operator CasinoPortugal.pt, allowing for customer engagement both online and offline.

Cirsa executive president Joaquim Agut said:

Casino Figueira becomes the first land-based casino for Cirsa in Portugal, representing a new milestone in our history. This acquisition, together with that of CasinoPortugal.pt in 2024, reinforces our ability to offer an integrated gaming and entertainment proposition through online and offline channels.

With this acquisition, Cirsa generates diversified income through different means of entertainment since it has secured online and offline operations all in one location.

This acquisition serves as an enhancement to the firms market presence, as the company has been expanding its market share in a variety of countries. Recently, Cirsa entered the market of Paraguay, thanks to its investment in Slots del Sol, which is known for its successful gaming business.

In 2025, Cirsa saw an increase in operational revenue reaching 2.34 billion, while operational profit remained high at €753.5 million. The company trades on the Madrid Stock Exchange and its stocks are not performing as well as expected.
