Colombia’s gambling authority Coljuegos has launched a new registry aimed at tackling the proliferation of illegal slot machines across the country, marking a strategic step in strengthening oversight of land-based gaming operations.
The registry, developed by the Colombian Gaming Authority, is intended to centralize information on authorized machines and aid enforcement actions against unlicensed devices.
Under the initiative, operators and venue owners must register their approved slot machines in the national database, providing authorities with a clear picture of legal gaming equipment installed in casinos and public venues. The move is part of Coljuegos’ broader effort to curb unauthorized gambling and protect players by ensuring that only licensed and compliant machines are operational.
The registry will also support targeted inspections, enable faster identification of suspicious hardware, and facilitate cooperation with local law enforcement to disrupt illegal activity.
