Daniel Lucas appointed as PointsBet Group CTO

PointsBet Holdings Limited has appointed Daniel Lucas as its new Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective September 1, 2024.

Daniel will assume this role following the departure of Jerry Bowskill, the current Group CTO based in the US, who will step down upon the completion of the sale of the US Business to Fanatics Betting and Gaming.

Daniel brings a wealth of experience to his new position, currently serving as the Global Director of Trading Technology at Flutter Entertainment Plc. In this capacity, he oversees the global trading technology operations and services across the Flutter Group, which includes renowned brands such as Fanduel, Sportsbet, Paddypower, Betfair, Pokerstars, and Skybet. While currently based in the UK, Daniel will relocate to Melbourne to embark on his new role with PointsBet.

Prior to his global role at Flutter, Daniel held key positions at Sportsbet in Melbourne, including Head of Data Solutions and Head of Trading Technology. His professional journey also includes significant roles in the investment banking sector in London.

Sam Swanell, Chief Executive Officer of the PointsBet Group, said:

We are delighted to welcome a Senior Executive of Dan’s caliber and expertise to the PointsBet team. Dan’s extensive knowledge of intricate platform and trading operations, including algorithmic trading, risk management, and advanced analytics, coupled with his exceptional leadership abilities, will greatly benefit PointsBet’s operations in Australia and Canada. His arrival aligns with our ongoing commitment to investing in cutting-edge live betting and multi-capability offerings through Odds Factory, further solidifying our position as a market leader.

Daniel Lucas said:

I’m incredibly enthusiastic about the chance to join a technology and product-driven organization such as PointsBet. Their ongoing investments in their platforms signal promising growth opportunities on the horizon, and I’m eager to be a part of it.

Daniel’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) and a Master of Business Systems from Monash University.
