DraftKings gets Arkansas sports betting license approval with Southland Casino Hotel

The Arkansas Racing Commission has been instrumental to the success of the company in that it has allowed the company to make its online sportsbook with Southland Casino Hotel in the state by giving the DraftKings a license. They are waiting for the last regulatory approvals.

The very desirable first day of operation will be after the signing of the market access agreement between DraftKings and Southland Casino Hotel. With Arkansas now included on the map, DraftKings Sportsbook will be available to over 2 million adults in the state. In fact, by doing this, the company’s products are now available to 53% of the US population, the company disclosed.

Gregory Karamitis, DraftKings Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports, said:

“We’re excited to team up with Southland Casino Hotel to bring DraftKings’ top-rated mobile sportsbook to Arkansas and introduce fans to our best-in-class sports betting offering. As March Madness approaches and several major sports are underway, we look forward to serving Arkansas customers with innovative features, including our No. 1 live betting experience and a continued commitment to responsible gaming.

After going live, DraftKings customers in Arkansas who are eligible will be able to make bets using their mobile sportsbook app. They will have at their disposal bets such as same-game parlays, in-play wagers, specially boosted odds, and tons of other options.

Furthermore, players also have the opportunity to use responsible gambling features that are embedded in the platform itself.

By bringing Arkansas on board, DraftKings will be conducting regulated sports betting in 30 states of the US. Apart from that, the firm also has licensed sports wagering in Washington DC, Ontario Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Last month DraftKings launched its online sportsbook for eligible customers in Puerto Rico thereby increasing the digital betting opportunities on the whole island following the opening of a physical sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November.

The mobile platform is available only to residents of Puerto Rico. Users have to register at the casino first and then they will be able to access all the digital sportsbook features.
