Dutch Gambling Authority bans autoplay feature

The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has reinforced its stance against autoplay, declaring that the feature will not be tolerated within its jurisdiction.

Autoplay, which allows bets to be placed automatically without manual input, is strictly prohibited in the Netherlands due to its potential to encourage gambling addiction. The KSA’s firm regulations ensure that all gaming operators comply with this restriction.

The recent crackdown follows reports that an online roulette table at an unnamed venue was using autoplay. After receiving a tip-off that the feature had not been removed, the KSA took action, issuing a formal letter to the casino operator demanding compliance. The roulette game will be inspected before being allowed back into operation to ensure autoplay is fully disabled.

This enforcement effort comes shortly after a KSA report revealed 13 instances of potential match-fixing in the Netherlands in 2024, which is nearly double the number reported the previous year.
