Dynam Japan profit drops 35% in FY2026

Japanese Pachinko operator Dynam Japan Holdings reported a year-on-year decline of 35.1% in profit attributable to shareholders for the year ending 31 March 2026, primarily due to increased impairment expenses on non-financial assets and financing costs, impacting overall profit before tax as well as EBITDA.

According to the group’s financial results published on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, attributable profit for the period ended 31 March 2026 was JPY2.6bn ($16.3m), compared to JPY4.0bn reported during the previous year.

Total revenue generated by the group decreased by 2.3% to JPY123.2bn ($772.7m), due to decreased revenue from the group’s core business of pachinko and a decrease in number of halls operated by the group at the period end – 423 halls compared to 427 halls previously.

Dynam indicated that the industry witnessed some growth in player numbers during the previous year as a result of increasing number of players using smart pachislot machines. In contrast, traditional pachinko is still experiencing significant challenges.

In view of the disappointing results for the fiscal year 31 March 2026, the board of directors decided to maintain the final dividend for the year at JPY2.50 ($0.016) per share, which when combined with the interim dividend results in no change to the total annual dividend at JPY5.00 ($0.031) per share.
