The Gauselmann Group, a prominent player in the German gambling industry, has successfully concluded its rebranding initiative, officially transitioning to the Merkur Group.
The group’s overarching entity, Gauselmann, will start to run under the Merkur AG name. This renaming process was finalized on January 1, 2024 with the necessary updates made to the commercial register.
The business unit’s ownership arrangement is unchanged in spite of the name modification. This unit was first established in 1980 and functioned as a holding company, bringing to the table essential offerings to different Gauselmann-owned companies.
Gauselmann Group Founder, Paul Gauselmann mentioned:
The company is undergoing a notable shift towards greater digitization and internationalization. This evolution is mirrored in the decision to change our name. By aligning the allure of our Merkur brand with the company name, both these transformations stand to gain synergistic advantages. Maintaining consistency and steadiness is still key to our company’s values and will continue to be essential components of our success in the future.
This major turning point in the company’s history comes 67 years after Gauselmann was founded and exactly 50 years after the Merkur brand was first presented in the 1970s.
