Google to give access to more gambling apps in Google Play Store

Eager to maximize advertising revenue within their apps, Google has launched a revamped version of the Google Play Store, providing increased access to gambling apps.

In version 39.5.18 for Android, this update is tailored for devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. Google has introduced a dedicated search page, prompting users to download various apps alongside the one they intend to download.

Although the update usually installs automatically, users now have the choice to manually initiate the download and installation process. Notably, Google is experimenting with a significant Play Store modification by relocating the search bar to the top of the Search tab.

Essentially, Google aims to boost advertising sales and encourage users to download more apps, increasing their revenue streams. However, this move has raised concerns among users regarding usability and potential aggressive advertising strategies.

Despite efforts in Australia to restrict access to new gambling apps, Google plans to broaden the availability of real-money gambling apps, assuring strict adherence to age and location restrictions for safety and legal compliance.

This expansion is expected to intensify competition among app developers seeking to generate more gaming revenue. After installation, the Google Play Store icon should appear on your home screen or in the app drawer.
