Grand Slam Track™, the new global home of professional track and field competition launched by four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, has announced that it has selected world leader in AI, technology and data for sports, Stats Perform, as its exclusive global data and betting rights distributor and integrity partner.
Grand Slam Track™ is the world’s premier professional track and field league, featuring head-to-head competitions between the sport’s fastest stars. Every detail has been designed to unlock the full potential of the sport in storytelling, personality and gamification for broadcast and commercial partners and, most importantly, track and field stars and fans.
In addition to increased prize money, contracted drivers and many other innovations designed to elevate the profile of track racing, each Slam will only feature one event at a time. The Slam events will be broadcast live on linear television and streaming, as well as through licensed sportsbooks. Together, these initiatives are expected to create unprecedented fan engagement and attention to the drivers and rivalries.
Stats Perform is a trusted partner to many of the world’s leading professional sports organizations across both men’s and women’s sports. The company has deep expertise in collecting, creating and distributing trusted premium sports data, AI technology, news and video content to maximize fan and player engagement, as well as providing integrity services across the professional sports world.
Michael Johnson, Commissioner, Grand Slam Track™, said:
We are excited to partner with a global leader like Stats Perform to help us bring the track to more fans around the world. We look forward to setting a new standard for our sport with Stats Perform’s extensive network of trusted media and betting partners, cutting-edge technology, and their true passion for the power of sport to connect and entertain. Steve Gera, President of Grand Slam Track added:
This partnership with Stats Perform is important for the Grand Slam Track and the sport for several reasons. In addition to co-investing in developing the data and betting infrastructure for the sport, Stats Perform also ensures that all of our athletes, partners, and stakeholders enter this space with the highest levels of knowledge, education, and integrity. They will be an important asset to the significant investment our league is making in the sport.
Carl Mergele, CEO of Stats Perform highlighted:
MJ and the Grand Slam Track™ team have created something with incredible entertainment and commercial potential for men’s and women’s track and field, based on his decades of unique experience in all areas, as a racer, as a media professional and as an entrepreneur. Everyone at Stats Perform is proud to have been selected as the exclusive broadcast data and betting rights provider for Grand Slam Track™.
