Greece signs deal to tackle gambling addiction

Greece’s gambling regulator and public health authority have entered a three-year partnership to boost efforts in preventing and treating gambling addiction.

The Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP) and the Health Quality Assurance Organization (ODIPY) signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate scientific initiatives and support programs aimed at mitigating the social and economic effects of addiction.

Dimitris Dzanatos, EEEP President, mentioned:

This partnership allows us to overcome bureaucratic barriers and implement effective, coordinated solutions.

Key goals include encouraging responsible gambling, identifying risks early, and offering psychological care and rehabilitation. A joint committee will oversee the initiative’s rollout
