Immense Group has appointed industry veteran Joonas Karhu as its new Managing Director for Finland, strengthening the company’s leadership ahead of regulatory changes expected in the Finnish gambling market.
Karhu will be based in Helsinki and take charge of Immense Group’s strategic direction in the region, overseeing partnership development, market strategy and preparations for Finland’s upcoming licensing framework. His role will also include building engagement with local stakeholders and shaping the positioning of the group’s casino and betting brands as the market transitions toward regulation.
The appointment reflects Immense Group’s broader commitment to reinforcing its presence in the Nordic region and consolidating its multibrand portfolio across regulated European markets. The company’s portfolio includes well-known brands such as DBET, Mr Vegas, Videoslots, Kungaslottet and Mega Riches, all of which are expected to benefit from targeted local leadership.
Karhu brings over 15 years of experience across affiliate, operator and commercial leadership roles. He previously served as Head of Casino at North Star and co-founded gambling platform Bojoko, where he was CEO. Notably, he also worked within Immense Group earlier in his career as Country Manager for Finland, giving him valuable insight into the company’s operations and culture.
In his new role, Karhu will also help lead Immense Group’s preparations for the Finnish licensing regime, ensuring the company is positioned for compliance and long-term growth once the market’s regulated framework is finalised.
