Kentucky sports betting volume reaches $129.2 million in July

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) announced that the state’s online sportsbooks recorded a handle of $129.2 million in July, marking the lowest monthly total since the launch of regulated sports betting in September 2023.

This represents a 14% decline from June’s handle of $150.3 million, with $125.4 million wagered online.

FanDuel maintained its lead in revenue for the fourth consecutive month, generating $6.1 million from $41.2 million in bets. DraftKings followed with $5.7 million in revenue from $48 million in wagers. The adjusted revenue of $15.1 million resulted in $2.1 million in tax revenue for the state, down slightly from $2.2 million in June.

Governor Andy Beshear noted that the market has “outperformed expectations,” contributing significant revenue to the state. Since its inception, the total handle has reached $2.23 billion, with licensed operators generating over $260 million in profit and Kentucky’s tax revenue totaling $36.7 million.
