KSA issues €900K fine to Sarah Eternal SRL for violations

The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has issued a €900,000 ($972,000) fine to Sarah Eternal SRL for illegally providing online gambling services to Dutch players via the website Casinosky.

An investigation by KSA uncovered multiple infractions, including inadequate measures to block Dutch users from accessing the site. Notably, the operator failed to implement an age verification system, potentially allowing minors to gamble, and permitted cryptocurrency transactions for betting.

Michel Groothuizen, the Chairman of KSA, commented:

The Netherlands has a legal market to ensure that people who want to gamble can do so safely.

With these types of illegal providers, we often see that no account is taken of the prevention of risky gaming behaviour. As KSA, we take tough action against these types of parties.

This fine follows a €280,000 penalty imposed on the company last year and aligns with KSA’s ongoing crackdown on unlicensed gambling. Earlier in the year, the regulator fined Alimaniere €1.1 million for targeting Dutch players through unauthorized platforms, even after attempting to circumvent enforcement by launching a new website.

Meanwhile, regulatory changes in the Netherlands’ legal gambling market continue to enhance consumer protections. Recent KSA data indicates that player deposit limits introduced in October 2024 have contributed to a decline in excessive gambling, with fewer individuals setting high deposit thresholds and reduced overall losses.
