KSA warns operators over banned tennis bets

The Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has issued formal warnings to online operators ZEbetting and Betca for offering unauthorized tennis betting markets.

Both companies were found to have allowed bets on specific set outcomes, such as winning or losing a set, a type of wager prohibited under Dutch law due to its heightened risk of match-fixing. The KSA stated that the operators have since rectified the issue and implemented measures to prevent future violations.

The regulator emphasized that licensed operators must actively monitor their offerings and immediately report any accidental breaches. This enforcement action follows a broader crackdown by the KSA, which recently levied conditional fines against three companies for advertising unlicensed gambling via CasinoScout.nl. Each now faces weekly penalties of €75,000 for continued non-compliance.

Additionally, the KSA reported strong adherence to the newly enforced ban on gambling-related sports sponsorships, which came into full effect on 1 July 2025. According to the regulator, nearly all such sponsorships have now ended, supporting its efforts to minimize gambling visibility, especially among minors and vulnerable populations.
