Lithuanian gambling revenue to increase by 12.6% in 2024 H1

The Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority reported that gambling revenue in the country reached €116 million in the first half of 2024. This is 12.6% more than in the previous year.

The growth was driven by the online gambling market, where revenue grew by 12.5% ​​to €72.2 million. Player spending increased by 8.7% to €1.05 billion.

Category A online slots with unlimited wins generated €53.5 million out of player spending of €627.7 million, up 6.2%. Revenue from category B slots with a maximum bet of 1 litas (€0.3) and winnings of up to 200 bets remained at the same level as last year. Meanwhile, online table games brought in €6.7 million, up 11.7%.

In sports betting, revenue grew 1.6% to €19.3 million. Stakes grew 2.4% to €289 million.

Land-based gambling was a different story, with revenue continuing to decline. Total revenue fell 4.4% to €34.7 million. Player spending fell 5.6% year-on-year to €217.8 million.

Category B slots generated €14.4 million, down 6.5%, although revenue from Category A slots rose 5.3% year-on-year to €7.9 million. Table games revenue fell 9.1% to €8 million, while sports betting revenue fell 6.4% to €4.4 million.

Lottery revenue, which is not included in total gambling revenue, reached €32.7 million, up 6.2%. Ticket sales increased by 4% to €70.9 million, while player winnings increased by 2.3% to €38.1 million.

Tax revenues from all gambling verticals combined totaled €37.6 million, of which €24.1 million came from gambling operators and €13.5 million from the lottery.
