Lottomatica has disclosed a revenue increase of 5% year-on-year to €537 million in the third quarter of 2026, which was its first quarterly results after the announcement of the acquisition of Cirsa for €2.8 million.
The adjusted EBITDA came at €200 million, marking an increase of 3% compared to the same time last year. In the earnings call, the chairman and the CEO of the company Guglielmo Angelozzi disclosed that the Cirsa acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of the year 2027.
Angelozzi described the acquisition as a “major strategic milestone” that will “significantly enhance our scale and future growth opportunities.”
Angelozzi said:
The integration work streams are already up and running with our colleagues in Cirsa. The chemistry is very good.
The acquisition of Cirsa is expected to widen the coverage of Lottomatica because it had been mostly in Italian markets, but the new results indicate that the company does well in the domestic markets as well.
For the third quarter of 2026, Lottomatica has seen an increase in its market share of online sports betting in Italy, which went up by 2.1 percentage points to the level of 34.8%. Its iGaming market share went up by 0.6 percentage points, so the overall online market share is now 31.7%, which is an increase of 0.9% from the same period last year.
Angelozzi noted that the success of the company lies with the improvements in the product and marketing strategy.
Angelozzi added:
When you continue to do well on the product, well on the marketing activities, improving the offer, you keep on eroding market share from competition slowly but consistently.
Online operations continued to drive Lottomatica’s growth. Including the first-half results, the company recorded total betting handle of €35.2bn for the first nine months of 2026, an 8% annual increase. Online betting accounted for €24.2bn, or approximately 69% of the total, representing 12% growth year-on-year.
Lottomatica also highlighted the impact of sporting results on its Q3 performance. The company reported adjusted EBITDA alongside a normalised figure, which estimates results under more typical payout conditions.
