MGA signs MoU with AGCO to enhance regulatory cooperation

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) to enhance their cooperation and relationship in gambling regulation.

Both regulatory bodies share common goals and values in the gaming sector, focusing on “protecting the public interest, safeguarding vulnerable individuals from gambling harm, and consumer protection.”

The MGA stated that the new MoU aims to reinforce collaboration between the two regulators, facilitating the sharing of crucial information and best practices, as well as providing “mutual operational assistance concerning gaming operators” to create a safer and more secure gaming environment in both regions.

Charles Mizzi, CEO of the MGA, commented:

Our ongoing collaboration with AGCO has yielded tangible results in the past, and through this MoU, we are committed to further bolstering our inter-jurisdictional relationship. Our focus remains on fostering the exchange of information, with the overarching goal of improving our regulatory practices and addressing mutual challenges effectively.
