MGM Resorts International has announced a new partnership, designating MGM Resorts as a “Proud Partner of the New York Yankees.”
This partnership will feature MGM Resorts’ brand placement at Yankee Stadium on LED signage, first and third base rotational signage, and the company’s logo on the back of the pitcher’s mound during live local television broadcasts of select games.
Additionally, MGM Resorts and the Yankees will offer exclusive experiences to MGM Rewards members and baseball fans, such as opportunities to watch batting practice and throw out a ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium. MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino will also host New York Yankees-themed fan activities and experiences featuring active Major League Baseball (MLB) players and alumni.
Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and president of MGM Resorts, stated:
We are committed to investing in the community and collaborating with the New York Yankees to provide unparalleled experiences for baseball fans. Having owned and operated Empire City Casino and Yonkers Raceway for the past five years, we look forward to further developing these properties as we pursue a full commercial casino license at Empire City, while continuing to deliver the world-class hospitality that guests expect from MGM Resorts.
Michael Tusiani, the Yankees’ senior vice president of partnerships, added:
We are thrilled to partner with MGM Resorts this season. The branding displayed on signage inside Yankee Stadium and integrated into our television broadcasts will increase exposure and recognition for MGM Resorts’ properties, particularly the nearby Empire City Casino.
Ed Domingo, president and COO of MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino, commented:
This partnership with the Yankees enables us to create unique and engaging opportunities for guests and baseball fans alike. Located less than two miles from the Bronx border, Empire City is a popular gaming entertainment destination for Bronx residents and a significant employer of local community members. We anticipate further growth in employment once a full-scale commercial casino license is secured.
