The National Information Centre for Gambling Players (Slicks) in the Netherlands is establishing a new support center in Amsterdam to assist those affected by gambling harm.
The center will be situated on the Keizersgracht, one of Amsterdam’s main canals, and will welcome walk-ins.
The Dutch Gambling Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) has announced the center will be named Steunpunt Gokschade Amsterdam.
Visitors can access information, support, and advice from both peers and experts, alongside counseling programs, workshops, and awareness sessions.
Funded by the Addiction Prevention Fund (VPF), this initiative will run as a pilot project and undergo evaluation after its first year of operation.
If the center successfully meets its predetermined goals, plans for expansion and the establishment of additional locations will be considered.
Earlier this year, the KSA outlined in its Supervisory Agenda 2025 that providing support for players affected by gambling harm will be a key priority.
