After an exhaustive and comprehensive bid duration conducted between Barcelona, London, Madrid, and Paris, it has been confirmed that from 2025, ICE and its sister show iGB Affiliate will be held in Barcelona.
The inaugural editions of Clarion Gaming’s two world–class B2B events are scheduled to take place in Gran Via, Fira de Barcelona, from 20th to 22nd January 2025. Prior to this, the 2024 editions will be held at ExCeL London.
In the process of exploring alternative host city locations, Clarion Gaming was prompted by customer demand and stakeholders‘ requests dating back to 2021. They undertook a thorough feasibility study to explore different cities and venues in Europe that could better meet the future needs of the gaming and ICE community.
The process involved an in–depth evaluation, comprising 30 variables, multiple venue visits, city presentations, and detailed negotiations. It considered aspects such as ease and costs of participation for exhibitors and visitors, logistics of transport and event organizing, as well as longer–term strategic factors affecting the ICE and iGB Affiliate events.
The final decision was made by an Advisory Board, consisting of international brands from both the land–based and online sectors of the industry. Furthermore, consultations with visitors and exhibitors were conducted through surveys and quantitative analysis to gather their input.
Barcelona, as the chosen host city, offers outstanding facilities and growth opportunities for both ICE and iGB Affiliate. It provides an exclusive experience as it will host the only major events in January, offering a vibrant and attractive location with excellent hospitality infrastructure.
Further details about the relocation will be communicated later in the summer, and from September onwards, monthly updates will be issued to ensure everyone is well–informed for the 2025 event.
The focus now is on continuing the success stories of ICE and iGB Affiliate in partnership with attendees, delivering an amazing experience in London in 2024. The upcoming edition is already shaping up to be even better than the previous year, with the majority of the exhibition space already sold out. Registration for the London event will open in the autumn.
