ACMA to block 2 more offshore gambling websites

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has instructed Australian internet service providers (ISPs) to block two additional gambling websites, Richard Casino and Wanted Win, due to violations of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

The ACMA targets sites offering unlicensed interactive gambling services or publishing advertisements for prohibited services. Since its first request in November 2019, the authority has blocked 1,011 websites. Additionally, over 220 illegal services have been removed from the market.

Recently, ACMA determined that Kayo, a sports streaming service operated by Hubbl, breached gambling advertising regulations. The service aired 16 gambling ads outside the permitted times during 267 live sports events, prompting complaints from viewers.
