Andria Vidler has stepped down from her role at Allwyn UK as its chief executive and Phil Walker has been appointed interim chief executive. Walker will take up his new role on September 7, while the company embarks on its search for a permanent replacement.
Vidler has been with the company since Allwyn UK was awarded the Fourth National Lottery licence in October 2023. She has been responsible for leading the company through the initial part of the licence.
The resignation was agreed upon in conjunction with the chairman of Allwyn UK. The reason behind the resignation has not been provided by the company, nor has a timeline been set for the appointment of a new chief executive.
The search for a new chief executive will continue as Walker carries out his interim duties as the company focuses on its National Lottery operation and the next phase of its licensing process.
Phil Walker, interim chief executive, Allwyn UK, said:
I am excited and proud to be taking up the baton from Andria and joining such a vital national institution at this important stage of its growth journey. As a long-standing National Lottery player, I know first-hand the difference that it makes to communities across the UK. This is a huge part of what attracted me to the role. It will be a real honour to help build on the progress already made.
Walker will start his interim tenure after a transition period. The company has not yet revealed how long his interim term will last or when it will appoint a permanent chief executive.
