Argentina’s online gambling tax revenue exceeds 2025 total

In the first nine months of 2026, the taxes in Argentina from legal online betting and gambling platforms reached $81 million, while the corresponding figure for 2025 was $61.25 million.

The Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) reported revenue amounting to ARS 123.856 billion (approximately $81 million) for the period from January to September 2026, which exceeded the amount of revenue for the preceding period (ARS 93.658 billion) for 2025.

According to estimates by the consulting company Empiria published in El Cronista, the income accounted for 0.03% of the country’s GDP with a year-on-year increase of 42% in real terms while taking into account an estimated inflation rate of 1.8% in September.

Empiria’s economist Lucas Tettamanti pointed out that, at the moment of the writing of the article, the revenue from tax in 9 months of the year 2026 had already exceeded the revenue generated by tax for the whole of 2025.

Monthly Revenue in September Reached $11.28 Million

In September, tax made an approximate revenue of ARS 17.255 billion ($11.28 million) as compared to August (ARS 16.975 billion) but it still did not meet the figure for July (ARS 17.798 billion, being the largest amount for the period).

The revenue report by the ARCA includes a category called “cash betting”. Sources at the agency told El Cronista that this refers to the specific tax on betting activities, including slot games.

The category generated approximately ARS 56.962 billion ($37.25 million) between January and September 2026.
