Australian regulator blocked 8 illegal iGaming websites

On March 18, the Australian regulator ACMA ordered local internet service providers to block eight illegal iGaming and affiliate sites for violating the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The sites blocked included CuntSpin, Frumzi, Great Win, MyStake, Oh My Spins, RetroBet, The Dog House 2 Slot, Viperwin.

Blocking websites is one of a number of law enforcement measures to protect Australians from illegal online gambling.

ACMA has blocked a total of 1,564 illegal gambling and affiliate websites since they filed their first blocking request in November 2019. Additionally, since the introduction of new illegal online gambling regulations in 2017, over 225 illegal services have been removed from the Australian market.

ACMA warns consumers that if a service seems legitimate, it does not provide adequate customer protections, which increases the risk of losing money for Australians who use illegal gambling services.

ACMA urges the Australian players to be sure if the wagering service is licensed to operate in Australia. For that, ACMA published register of licensed interactive gambling providers.
