GambleAware has recently published annual statistics for the NGTS, showing measurable improvements for 92% of people who finished their treatments.
The National Gambling Treatment Service has shown that a large portion of people who fully finalize their treatment programs improve their harmful behaviors and their mental health.
Furthermore, 50% of problem gamblers had their first appointments less than five days after seeking help, and 75% had it within 12 days. Out of all participants, 63% completed their treatment programs fully.
The report detailed over 7000 problem gamblers who signed up for the service between April of last year and March of this year.
We are quite excited to see that the NGTS continues its mission of improving the lives of vulnerable gamblers. We are also thrilled to see that more people are seeking for help via the service or gambling helplines. It is quite important to encourage problem gamblers to do this as early as possible, as anyone can be seriously affected by gambling harms.
commented the chief executive officer of GambleAware, Zoe Osmond.
Furthermore, we are constantly working hard on optimizing the service to increase the number of people fully completing their programs as well as the number of people signing up for treatment. We are also working on raising awareness for the service and making it more accessible to a wide variety of gamblers who could benefit from it.
