Gambling Commission warns operators over late returns

The Gambling Commission’s director of enforcement has issued a warning to operators who repeatedly fail to submit regulatory returns on time, stating that continued non-compliance will lead to increasingly severe enforcement measures.

Since October, over 10 operators have received fines of up to £750 for failing to properly complete and submit their returns within the designated deadline.

Operators must submit their next quarterly returns by Monday, April 28. This follows a policy shift last July, when the Commission amended Licence Condition 15.3.1 under the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice, replacing annual submissions with quarterly ones.

John Pierce, director of enforcement, mentioned:

Operators are expected to understand their reporting obligations and must ensure returns are submitted on time via our online portal.

Repeated breaches and persistent non-compliance is likely to result in escalating enforcement action.
