The state of Kansas has published a list of betting companies that will start operating as soon as sports wagering becomes legal at the start of September.
A number of wagering operators have signed up to be working in the state of Kansas from day one. Ahead of the legalization of retail betting on the 1st of September and online wagering on the 8th of September, the state has published the list of businesses that will be allowed to provide betting services to players in Kansas.
The list contains six high-profile corporations, namely Pointsbet, DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars and Barstool. According to the terms of the new law, these firms will be able to operate a number of retail betting establishments and no more than three online betting websites.
The legislation change comes at a great time as bettors will be able to wager on a number of college football events, providing them with betting opportunities pretty much immediately. The state will be missing out on online wagering at first, though only for a week, providing players with plenty of events to bet on during the college sports season. Additionally, bettors in Kansas will have the entire NFL season to wager on, which is expected to bring in higher revenues than college sports.
