The Malta Gaming Authority has released a warning regarding a number of websites that claim to be licensed by them or pretending to be legitimate websites with an MGA license.
On the notice that has been published on the 16th of July the Malta Authority has revealed a list of 3 active websites involved in this scheme:
- manekicasino.bet;
- dragonaracasino.uk.com;
- slot-hunter.at.
The MGA has claimed that they have nothing to do with these websites and affirmed that any mention of MGA licensing or claims of regulatory approval on these websites is untrue.
The authority warned players to check whether the operator is licensed or not, stating that any gambling sites that are not licensed are operating in Malta illegally.
The media pointed out that one of the domains mentioned appears to be imitating the online brand of the Dragonara Casino which is a famous casino located in St. Julian’s.
The MGA stated that it will continue to monitor the websites that misuse its name or falsely claim to have the license of Malta and that it will urge players to use services only from the licensed gambling operators.
