Mauritius regulator suspends Bet 593 amid money laundering investigation

Mauritius’ Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) has ordered the immediate suspension of all betting operations by Bet 593 Ltd following an internal investigation into suspected money laundering activities.

Under a directive issued on 4 March 2026, Bet 593 Ltd was instructed to halt all of its services, including local horse racing betting, international football wagering, online platforms, and retail outlets. The suspension primarily affects the operator’s sports and horse racing betting operations, which represent the core of its business.

In mid-2025, Bet 593 Ltd was granted their gambling license and have since sponsored the Bicentennial Cup at the Mauritius Turf Club Jockey Club (MTCJC) but there have been increasing signs of them being under serious scrutiny by regulators despite entering the market only recently.

Authorities have since confirmed that as a result of the regulator’s referral of the operator to the FCC based upon Mauritius financial crime laws, their Director has been arrested.

Bet 593 Ltd has not issued any public statement yet related to the alleged incident or the cessation of their business operations.
