N1 Interactive has recently announced its intentions of disputing the Dutch Kansspelautoriteit’s allegations and record-breaking €12.5m fine.
Back in late December of 2022, the Dutch gambling regulator took one of its largest enforcement actions to date. The KSA published about it in February, although the report didn’t contain much finalized information. A couple of days ago, however, the Kansspelautoriteit released a more complete version of it, which mentioned the names of five violating operators and their fine amounts. Among the violating businesses, N1 Interactive was handed the largest share of the combined over 27 million Euro amercements at just over 12.5 million Euros.
The iGaming operator has recently published its statement on the massive fine, calling the Kansspelautoritet’s calculation methods baseless. The firm stated that it actively prevents Dutch players from accessing its website and that it disagrees with the regulator’s assessment.
N1 Interactive has started the process of appealing the penalty, which it hopes will result in an impartial and fair decision by the court. The company had asked the Kansspelautoriteit to not publicize the amercement until a finalized decision was made by the court, however, the regulator denied the request.
The operator is not the only company disputing the KSA’s decision, as VideoSlots published its statement before the regulator’s official announcement. We detailed the latter’s intentions in our coverage of the Kansspelautoriteit’s report, which you can read here.
