Playtech subsidiary receives UAE gaming supplier licence

Playtech has widened its reach in the UAE after receiving a Gaming-Related Vendor License by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) by its subsidiary VS Technology Ltd.

The license has made VS Technology the 23rd company to obtain the vendor license, which allows it to operate in the region’s legal commercial gaming market.

VS Technology, which Playtech acquired in 2009, is the originator of the company’s now-outdated EdGE aggregation platform.

Playtech is among the various licensed suppliers that consist of big companies like Aristocrat, IGT, Light & Wonder, Novomatic, Konami, Scientific Games, and Cammegh in its slot.

Whereas the number of authorized vendors is increasing day by day, the UAE has given out only a few operator licenses, such as the Land-Based Gaming Facilities License for the Wynn 5.1 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated project by Wynn Resorts in Ras Al Khaimah and the Lottery License for UAE Lottery operator, The Game LLC.

The region’s gaming and betting operations are run by Momentum and its division Coin Technology Projects LLC through the Play971 platform.
