PointsBet Holdings goes live in the state of Louisiana

PointsBet Holdings has released its online sports betting in Louisiana through its cooperation with Penn National Gaming.

Online betting company PointsBet is currently operating in Louisiana and accepts bets as it has already received approval from the Louisiana Gambling Control Board.

The rollout marks the state’s fourth launch under the PNG partnership, which was announced in August 2019 and expanded in March 2021 to include Pennsylvania and Mississippi.

The release represents the operator’s 12th online operations of sportsbooks in US States.

We are happy to announce that PointsBet is officially live in Louisiana, which is our 12th state in the country. The Louisiana sports community, with which our own brand ambassador Drew Brees is well acquainted, is unparalleled in its dedication and passion for many local teams.

commented Johnny Aitken, the CEO of the company.

The release comes after PointsBet reported earlier this month that yearly losses increased by 42.6% in the 1st half of fiscal year 2023, and the company’s share price fell by more than 11% after the report was published.

We cannot wait to provide Louisiana sports enthusiasts, from Bourbon Street to Bayou, with our fast and premium sports betting products. And with the NFL and CFB season in full swing, the timing is perfect to showcase our real-time betting capabilities.

added Aitken.
