Total group revenue at PointsBet were reported at USD $133.4 million for the nine months ending 31 March, a minor decrease from last year’s figure of USD $134.7 million and was bolstered primarily by rapid growth in Canada, which compensated for weaker performance in Australia.
Gross profit decreased 6% to USD $66.9 million, however, the number of active cash customers increased by 1% from 31 March of last year to 298,100, with Canada experiencing particularly strong growth as active cash users in that country grew by 9%.
Furthermore, following the company’s acquisition by MIXI Australia, which acquired a controlling stake in September 2025, PointsBet also changed its financial year-end from 30 June to 31 March.
In Canada, revenue increased by 13% from a year ago to USD $24.7 million, and total net win increased by approximately 14% from the previous year to USD $24.8 million, with iGaming revenue experiencing the strongest growth period. Specifically, the net winnings from iGaming for the quarter increased by approximately 28% from the previous year to USD $16.9 million, which was primarily attributed to increased activity in slots.
At the same time, revenue in Australia upon the conclusion of this period decreased approximately 4% from the previous year to USD $108.7 million; however, the sportsbook gross winning margin in that jurisdiction remained constant from the previous quarter at approximately 13.3%.
During this period, the Company also reduced costs as it relates to marketing by reducing total marketing expenses for the quarter from USD $35.9 million to USD $35.1 million and reducing overall operating expenses to USD $32.3 million.
PointsBet is currently preparing for continued expansion efforts in Canada, as Alberta is preparing to launch its regulated online gaming sector in July of this year. PointsBet is one of the operators who is in pursuit of the requisite approvals to operate that province.
