SGA bans Simba NV for unlicensed gambling in Sweden

The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) has imposed an immediate ban on Curaçao-licensed operator Simba NV for illegally targeting Swedish players without holding a local licence.

The enforcement comes after an investigation revealed that several of Simba NV’s websites, such as betblast.com, slotmonster.com, and foxygold.com, were accessible in Sweden and promoted through Swedish-language affiliate marketing.

The SGA found that the websites automatically selected Sweden based on user IP addresses and, in some cases, featured Swedish-speaking influencers, including a Twitch streamer promoting foxygold.com.

Although licensed in Curaçao, Simba NV lacks the Swedish licence required under the country’s Gambling Act to operate legally within the market. The investigation uncovered at least 15 active websites run by the operator, including wreckbet.com, thehighroller.com, puppybet.com, klikkikasino.com, and slotit.com.

Citing the need to protect consumers and preserve the integrity of Sweden’s regulated gambling sector, the SGA enforced the prohibition immediately. Simba NV did not respond during the investigation but retains the right to appeal the decision.
