TAB New Zealand Interim Chair Anna Stove has announced her resignation after a remarkable five-year tenure with the statutory body.
Ms Stove began her leadership role in 2019 with the Racing Industry Transition Agency. She became Deputy Chair of TAB NZ’s inaugural Board in 2021, Interim Chair in September 2023 and played a key role in securing TAB NZ’s strategic partnership with Entain.
During her time on the Board, she helped implement the changes recommended by the Messara Report, overcome COVID-related challenges, end the partnership with Entain, transition to a new operating model and make significant investments in racing and the sport.
Reflecting on her time at TAB NZ, Ms Stove expressed pride in the legacy created:
It’s been a rewarding five years and we’ve delivered sustainable long-term value for our stakeholders through the partnership with Entain.
She thanked the Minister, Directors and fellow board members, expressing confidence in the ability of the Board and Management Team to build on their foundations, ensuring a strong future for the industry and its economic contribution.
TAB NZ CEO Nick Roberts praised Anna’s leadership:
I would like to thank Anna for her leadership and drive. She leaves the organisation and those who rely on our funding in a better position than when she joined us in 2019.
Despite leaving the Board, Ms Stowe will continue her involvement in the racing industry, breeding and racing Thoroughbreds on her property in Karaka. She will remain as interim chair until the Racing Minister appoints a new person.
