The GCGRA to grant license for UAE Lottery

The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), the federal authority overseeing commercial gaming activities in the United Arab Emirates, has announced the issuance of a license to operate the UAE’s first authorised lottery operation.

The announcement marks a new milestone in GCGRA’s quest to establish a well-regulated commercial gaming sector in the UAE, based on the principles of transparency, accountability, consumer protection and responsible gaming practices.

The lottery license was issued to The Game LLC, a commercial gaming operator specialising in game development, lottery operations and gaming content. Operating under the name of ‘UAE Lottery’, GCGRA’s first licensee will offer a wide range of lottery games and other games designed to cater to the varied interests and financial preferences of players.

Jim Murren, Chairman of GCGRA, said:

The launch of the UAE Lottery is a key milestone that not only marks the establishment of a disciplined, world-class regulatory framework for lottery activities, but also underlines our commitment to creating a safe and enriched commercial gaming environment in the UAE.

Kevin Mullally, CEO of GCGRA, said:

GCGRA is steadfast in its commitment to global best practice in consumer protection and regulatory oversight. Our regulatory framework is designed to ensure that commercial gaming activities in the UAE, including lottery games, are fair, honest and transparent. It also provides consumers with a comprehensive set of tools to monitor and manage their gaming activities. In addition, we leverage new technologies to facilitate the creation of safe, entertaining games and drive consumer-focused innovation.
