For the 7th year in a row, the National Betting Authority will host the 7th annual Safer Gaming Week from October 7-13, 2024, under the theme “Safety: A Real Hero in Every Game.”
Now in its seventh year, Safer Gaming Week has become a key event in the industry, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders committed to promoting safer gambling practices. The week is dedicated to raising awareness among both players and the general public about the importance of safe gambling behavior. The week will disseminate information about the tools available to protect yourself, the risks associated with problem gambling and gambling-related harm, and resources for those who need support or treatment.
The 7th Safer Gambling Week will begin, as it does every year, with the Safer Gambling Conference, featuring prominent academics and industry leaders. Following the conference, a series of events will take place including presentations, educational workshops, practical training and interactive sessions, all aimed at educating the public on how to maintain safer gambling behaviour.
NBA Chairperson Ioanna Fiaccou highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating:
Safer Gambling Week is a key element of our ongoing strategy to raise awareness among the public on safer gambling. We are pleased to see growing participation each year and an increasing number of organisations supporting this important cause. The progress we have made in raising awareness is clear as the public is now much more informed about safer gambling practices than when we first launched this initiative. Our ultimate goal is to prevent gambling-related harm and promote a safer environment for all participants.
