Tim Miller, Executive Director of Research and Policy of the Gambling Commission, confirmed his exit in September.
In his role at the Commission, Tim leads the Commission’s Policy and Research functions, which includes the programme of work to implement the Government’s Gambling White Paper.
To name just a few, he was the creator of the Gambling Survey for Great Britain and was instrumental in overseeing aspects of the comprehensive Gambling Act Review that was completed last year, as well as the finalisation of the report on that review.
Tim Miller said in a recent LinkedIn post:
The Commission has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling part of my career so far and I’ve been so lucky to work with such brilliant people who care deeply about getting regulation right. But for me, ten years always felt like the right point to take on a new challenge.
Miller joined the regulator in 2016 and has worked there for ten years. Miller will will move into an international advisory role, which will be outside of UK regulatory sector.
Tim added:
I’ve always been a public servant but am now looking forward to working for myself. This is going to include working internationally with a number of governments, regulators and organisations that are focused on supporting the development of well‑regulated and competitive markets. More on that later in September after my last day at the Commission.
The commission has confirmed Miller will continue working in his present position until the end of September, after which time more information about who will succeed him will be made public.
