Finland’s gambling regulator officially confirms 12 licence approvals ahead of gambling market launch in 2027.
Finland’s National Police Board confirmed the news to iGB. Of the 79 submitted applications, the list reveals the following 12 operators that received an operating licence:
- Hippos ATG Oy
- Sunflower Gaming Limited
- Granturo Finland Ltd (Wildz Group)
- Skill On Net Ltd
- SuomiVeto Oy
- Cloudberry Ent Limited
- SixthSpin Limited
- KuuFlip Limited
- RocketLily Ent Limited
- Nivei Ursi Limited
- YTBlue Limited
- Buccone Trading Limited
Veikkaus is missing from the list, which is the current state monopoly company that had also made a bid to be allowed to compete in the online gaming market after the liberalisation process.
Once the market is opened, Veikkaus is expected to enjoy an edge because of its brand name and its large existing customer database.
The company will continue to monopolise lotteries, scratch cards and gaming machines in the real world while the online gambling market will be open to private operators.
