Gamdom lost $3M following security breach

Crypto casino Gamdom confirmed a security breach that resulted in losses of just over $3 million. The breach was confirmed after suspicious transfers drained funds from its hot wallets across five blockchains, forcing the gambling platform offline.

On October 13, Gamdom’s hot wallets on Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Tron and the XRP Ledger transferred more than $2.3 million to five wallets within roughly an hour. At least four recipient wallets had not been used before.

Gamdom went offline shortly afterward, initially announcing on X that it would return soon without explaining the outage.

Gamdom’s three Ethereum wallets moved around $1.2 million to a wallet that immediately converted USDT and USDC to DAI. Another Ethereum wallet received $870,000 worth of DAI, mostly via the Relay bridge.

At a later stage, the two wallets possessed a total of about equal to $1.8 million in DAI and 87 ethers. A small transaction in ether was also traced back to a Gamdom wallet which was an older one, along with the wallet receiving approximately $10,000 in BUSD, which was supposedly the next transaction made on behalf of the wallet that got money via BNB Chain.

Gamdom Statements

On October 14, Gamdom said it found out that unauthorized connection happened to one of its servers after some possible disk malfunction. The company took its systems offline and informed that data of users were safe.

Owner Felix Romer later confirmed that the incident led to losses worth over $3 million. Gamdom stated that it would resume work in a few hours.
