iGaming Ontario to choose self-exclusion system provider

iGaming Ontario has chosen IXUP and Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) to create a centralized self-exclusion system for Ontario.

IXUP, known for developing Australia’s BetStop, will partner with IC360 for this project, valued at over AUD$10 million (approx. CA$9 million) over five years, with extension options.

iGaming Ontario executive director Martha Otton said:

We’re excited to develop a centralized self-exclusion program for Ontario’s iGaming players. With IC360’s expertise and IXUP’s success with BetStop, we’re confident in building a robust system for Ontarians.

The new system will allow players over 19 to self-exclude from all regulated iGaming sites in Ontario with one registration, enhancing protections under AGCO’s standards. Development will start immediately, involving all licensed iGaming operators and OLG.

IC360 president Eric Frank and IXUP chief executive Al Watson highlighted their commitment to responsible gambling and the significance of this project for North America. OLG president Duncan Hannay and AGCO chief executive Karin Schnarr emphasized the importance of robust player protections.

Australia’s BetStop, launched in August 2023, has completed over 15 billion self-exclusion checks in its first 11 months. Following the announcement, IXUP Ltd shares closed 4.35% higher at AUD$0.024 in Sydney.
