Nils Andén, previously interim CEO, has been officially appointed as the permanent Chief Executive Officer of Kindred Group as the company readies for its acquisition by FDJ.

After serving as interim CEO since May 2023, Nils Andén, a Kindred veteran, has been formally named the Chief Executive Officer. Andén, who began with Unibet in 2006, took on the interim role after the resignation of Henrik Tjärnström amidst strategy concerns and discussions about a potential sale.

The appointment comes as French gaming company FDJ offers a €2.45bn all-cash deal to acquire Kindred. Evert Carlsson, Chairman of Kindred, expressed satisfaction with the decision to appoint Andén as the permanent CEO.

Evert Carlsson, Chairman of Kindred Group said:

Nils has done an excellent job as interim CEO and is an appreciated leader with a vast knowledge of both Kindred and the online gambling industry. We look forward to working with Nils and his team as he continues to lead the company on its strategic direction.

Nils Andén, CEO at Kindred Group added:

I am grateful and proud to have received the Board’s confidence to continue in the role as CEO of Kindred Group. We have a great team who are working hard to deliver on an exciting strategy that will strengthen Kindred’s position in locally regulated markets, and I look forward to continue to execute on our plan.
