Spillemyndigheden to fix self-exclusion error in ROFUS

Spillemyndigheden has announced the resolution of an error within the national self-exclusion platform, ROFUS, in Denmark.

This error inadvertently allowed around 1,200 individuals listed on the system to access gambling activities at land-based casinos and gaming machines.

The malfunction primarily impacted users who had renewed their self-exclusion status, resulting in the renewal not being properly recorded for certain types of games. Following reports of the issue, Spillemyndigheden has taken corrective actions to include all relevant games in ROFUS self-exclusion renewals. Additionally, the regulator has notified the Danish Data Protection Agency about the glitch.

Describing the incident as “regrettable,” Spillemyndigheden emphasized its commitment to ensuring the stability and reliability of ROFUS as a trusted service.
