Sweden bans GG.bet for operating without a gambling license

Sweden’s gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen, has banned ASG 360 Services, the operator behind the GG.bet brand, for offering unlicensed online gambling in the country.

An investigation published on 13 March found that GG.bet was illegally targeting Swedish players despite not holding a Swedish gambling license. Based in Cyprus, ASG 360 operates under a Curaçao license via its parent company, River Entertainment BV.

Spelinspektionen determined that Swedish players could register, deposit, and play on GG.bet without any geoblocking restrictions. The site also offered transactions in Swedish kronor and used Swedish-language affiliates for marketing, both of which violate Swedish gambling laws.

Additionally, the regulator found ASG 360 responsible for multiple mirror websites under the GG.bet brand, though the exact number active in Sweden was unclear.

Citing consumer protection concerns, Spelinspektionen issued an immediate ban on ASG 360 and its related sites. The decision was influenced by Q4 2024 data from ATG, which ranked GG.bet as the fifth most-visited unlicensed gambling site in Sweden, with 76,124 visits in the quarter.

GG.bet’s prohibition marks the third operator added to Spelinspektionen’s banned list, as Swedish authorities continue cracking down on illegal gambling platforms.
