Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has launched the development of a national online monitoring system to oversee gambling activities and inform future tax policy.
The system aims to increase transparency, strengthen regulatory compliance in the legal market, and curb unlicensed operations. It will be designed to track each bet in real time, record payouts and winnings, and offer publicly accessible data on market activity.
Online public consultations are set for 21 July, with IT firms invited to help shape the system’s design. Registration for participation closes on 18 July.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of creating an efficient, user-friendly tool that benefits both regulators and the industry, stressing that stakeholder input is key to its success.
This initiative comes amid broader reforms in Ukraine’s gambling regulation, including the dissolution of the former Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries and the launch of PlayCity. The upcoming monitoring system under PlayCity reflects Ukraine’s commitment to modernizing its gambling oversight infrastructure.
