Anna Johnson is set to assume the position of Svenska Spel‘s new Chief Executive Officer, slated to begin her role in June 2024.
With the impending departure of current CEO Patrik Hofbauer in February 2024, Svenska Spel chair Erik Strand will temporarily take on the responsibilities as interim CEO.
As the CEO of the Swedish branch of the international accounting company Grant Thornton, Johnson has proven herself to be a capable leader throughout her seven years in the position. She graduated from Mitthögskolan in Östersund with a Master’s degree in Economics in addition to her training as an accountant.
Erik Strand, the Chair of Svenska Spel, underscored Johnson’s exceptional leadership skills and her dedication to fostering inclusion and team cohesion. He emphasized that Johnson’s drive and curiosity make her exceptionally well-suited for the task of leading Svenska Spel. Strand expressed confidence in her ability to build upon the substantial modifications made in the last years, ensuring that Svenska Spel will provide amazing gaming practices that contribute to the betterment of Sweden.
