Svenska Spel to strengthen its management team

Svenska Spel has unveiled alterations to its group management lineup.

The current IT director, Mikael Franzén, is slated to transition to the helm of the newly established group function, Gaming Responsibility & Data-Driven Transformation. Taking his place as the Head of IT will be Lovisa Ekman, previously serving as the Head of Corporate IT at Svenska Spel. Both individuals are set to assume their new roles within the group management team on April 1.

Since autumn, Svenska Spel has embarked on initiatives to fortify the group’s future prospects. This entails a thorough examination of organizational structure, operational methodologies, and expenditures to pave the way for expansion. The company has now finalized a revamped organizational framework effective from April 1, which includes the establishment of a new group function.

These changes also encompass two key adjustments within the group management, aimed at bolstering Svenska Spel’s standing in responsible gambling, enhancing the capacity for data-driven decision-making across the organization, and sustaining investments in IT and technology.

Heading the newly established group function, Gaming Responsibility & Data-Driven Transformation, will be Mikael Franzén, who has served as the IT director at Svenska Spel since 2019. Assuming the role of Head of IT will be Lovisa Ekman, a veteran of Svenska Spel since 2018, notably holding the position of Head of Corporate IT.

Erik Strand, President, and CEO of Svenska Spel, expressed his satisfaction with the appointments, stating:

I am delighted to welcome Mikael Franzén and Lovisa Ekman into their new roles. They are entrusted with pivotal responsibilities in our endeavor to ensure that Svenska Spel advances into the future as a resilient and competitive entity. Mikael and Lovisa are seasoned leaders, esteemed by both our workforce and the group management.
